Well, what an eventful day! The Fox and I drizzled around the house until about mid-day, when Himself decided he fancied a trip to the beach. As you can imagine, gentle reader, I was less than enthused about this and sent the Fox off on his own to enjoy the brisk autumnal air. Naturally he wasn't gone ten minutes before he returned and demanded that I go with him seeing as how it was such a beautiful day and the air would do me good and I'd love it. Well, I went having decided that after all he'd done for me this weekend, the least I could do was to sit with him on the beach for half an hour, so off we went. Unfortunately, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink; and having decided that I didn't really want to go, I completely failed to enjoy what was, in fact, a beautiful day. Fortunately, neither of us got grumpy about the situation and what could have developed into a horrendous situation actually turned out to be merely frustrating for the both of us. Sometimes I wish that I could leave my preconceptions at the door, because it was a lovely day, and the sea was beautiful ... maybe I'll learn one day.

On then to an afternoon of playing with computers (for the results of which, see below) which was pretty intense (more for the Fox than me) but had a happy ending. And then on to dinner, wine and Hallmark's wonderful 'Arabian Nights' which is only very slightly inferior to 'Merlin', and rather better than 'Jason and the Argonauts'. I am miffed, by the way, that although Hallmark have released 'Merlin' on DVD, they have failed to release either 'Arabian Nights' or 'Jason and the Argonauts', if anyone out there knows different, please let me know. The Fox wasn't in the mood for fantasy tonight though and spent most of the evening playing with the PCs, trying to get some software to run, with varying success.

Ah, I missed out the fact that I have to endure an endoscopy on Tuesday and have therefore been on a somewhat limited diet today (boiled fish, potatoes, white bread, eggs, milk and cheese). This is, however, nothing compared to the privations of tomorrow when, in addition to taking industrial strength laxatives, I'm on a liquid diet. I can hardly wait.

And with the cheery thoughts of urinating through my rectum running through my brain, I shall turn in for the night.

I do hope that it is not a totally horrid experience.

I was threatened with one a little while ago - but they then got to the bottom of it all (no pun intended) with blood tests instead.

I also hope that this will provide a solution that makes any discomfort worthwhile.
