For those who are interested, I've transcribed the two pieces of online rules for Cataclysm LRP:

• Basic Rules


• Character Ability Development

They're pdf files so you'll need a reader to look at them but on the bright side it isn't the arcane (not to mention godsawful) Snapshot viewer nonsense you need to download from the Cataclysm site itself.

If you've got any questions about the system go visit the Forums and ask there ... they won't bite, honest.

As to what the system is like/about I'm sorry, I haven't a clue. I've been drawn in by the lure of a cool character concept, seeing some old friends, and camping in a location that I am really very fond of.

Thanks for that, very helpful indeed! Our original idea was to be the unseelie court to your seelie, but it's clear now that nothing like that is happening since you're not Fey. On the bright side you've given us some great information to write a sales pitch for a Fey race. This could be fun since the first Unseelie to come along in Summer gets to take the throne away!

We have Tim and Nigel Brittain (I'm sure you know Tim, not sure if you know Nigel) and possibly ser Brind too! Plus other people signing up all the time ... should be a very jolly event.

No reason why you don't think they might be though... I believe that by enlarge we could be termed 'good' though 'good' is relative of course.

Just so your aware the game caters for about 30 to 50 at the moment.

There was a feeling last time I talked to the refs that over 70 wiould be pushing the numbers limit for it to run smoothly.

A Very Large group would be about ten people...

Its only something to bear in mind as a large group could unbalance the game world.

This is not to say that it shouldn't be done. A King turned up once with a large group and was indeed king for a while by force of arms.

As long as the organisers are aware there might be lots of you,. and you are prepared to possibly be the most influential group you should be fine...

Have you thought abouit a racial phys-rep or something? Worth mentioning to the refs as its factored into your character model.... (i.e. I believe that a phyw rep requirment gains you a few spare XP to play with...)

Discussions with the referees are ongoing (Nick is on our egroup and is party to all the lunatic ideas being thrown around) ... though we've pretty much reached consensus now. The group is about six strong at the moment, I shouldn't think it will go beyond nine even at it's most optimistic.
