Well the first episode of the Neverwhere LRP was today (well, technically, yesterday I suppose) and it was really quite promising. There was a very good ratio of 3 STs (refs) to 17 players and the plot was engaging enough to keep me involved throughout the session. I was very pleased with the way the High Gate concept worked out and how it interacted with the other characters. The venue fitted the campaign remarkably well (far better than I had feared it would) and provided sufficient cubbies and alcoves to allow for 'private' roleplaying whilst not being removed from the main area. The story itself is intriguing and, although it seems to be pointing in one particular direction, I wouldn't be at all surprised if it turns out to be a red herring.

In short, I'm looking forward to the next session in two months time.

There's still room in the High Gate for new folks if you're interested, the Doormen being interchangeable enough that there's no requirement to attend all of the sessions. Drop me a line if you're interested.

I am interested, but fear that I do not know enough about Neverwhere to be able to do so in any meaningful way...

Read the book, it's not a long read and is excellent even should you decide you don't fancy it as a game.

You can find details by looking at the Image (http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=neverwhere_live)Neverwhere_Live (http://www.livejournal.com/community/neverwhere_live/) community LJ.

I don't object to journal-hopping in the slightest ... do I know you?

The sign of a true master is the one who gives you so many obvuious clues that you come to an obvious conclusion, then gives you clues to disprove it, then reproves it then has you double, triple and even quadruple guessing yourself.

Then he says, "it was the rat in session 1"

And everyone goes "Fuck, so it was, that was soo obvious"

It sounds fun, and I am a big fan of neverwhere ... I may be interested in it as a diversion if I happen to be free when it is on but I don't think I'd make plans to go

I'll give as much advance notice as I can of forthcoming sessions here. If you're able to come along you'd be very welcome as part of the High Gate ... the background is designed to allow for people dipping into the game as they can.
