*sigh* Ah well, things had been going so well recently, what with one thing and another, that a fly was bound to land in the ointment. Sure enough, there was an almost audible 'splat' as I was called in to be given my notice. Thomson Financial are no longer supporting their Intranet (it's being replaced by a global Thomson Intranet based in the US ... but not until March 2004) so they no longer need an Intranet Webmaster. Somewhat curiously, aside from feeling a little stunned, I'm ok with it. The Fox, on the other hand, seems quite distraught and is making lots of comforting and encouraging noises in an effort to drag me out of the deep depression that ... er ... I'm not in.

My game-plan is therefore to spend the next few days actually doing the website redesign that I've been making noises about for ages. It seems rather a good idea to have a decently working site when one is touting oneself as a web designer. I shall then turn my attention to sprucing up my CV and actually looking for jobs. s0bs0b tells me (and I have no reason to doubt him) that the market is fairly buoyant at the moment so I am hoping to start the new year with a new job.

So if anyone out there has a vacancy for a web designer, trainer or administrator in the South of England (somewhere between London and Brighton preferred) please let me know. Hell, I'd even consider acting again if the pay was regular!
