*sigh* Ah well, things had been going so well recently, what with one thing and another, that a fly was bound to land in the ointment. Sure enough, there was an almost audible 'splat' as I was called in to be given my notice. Thomson Financial are no longer supporting their Intranet (it's being replaced by a global Thomson Intranet based in the US ... but not until March 2004) so they no longer need an Intranet Webmaster. Somewhat curiously, aside from feeling a little stunned, I'm ok with it. The Fox, on the other hand, seems quite distraught and is making lots of comforting and encouraging noises in an effort to drag me out of the deep depression that ... er ... I'm not in.

My game-plan is therefore to spend the next few days actually doing the website redesign that I've been making noises about for ages. It seems rather a good idea to have a decently working site when one is touting oneself as a web designer. I shall then turn my attention to sprucing up my CV and actually looking for jobs. s0bs0b tells me (and I have no reason to doubt him) that the market is fairly buoyant at the moment so I am hoping to start the new year with a new job.

So if anyone out there has a vacancy for a web designer, trainer or administrator in the South of England (somewhere between London and Brighton preferred) please let me know. Hell, I'd even consider acting again if the pay was regular!

Sorry that a move was enforced rather than chosen.

I am finding more and more as time goes on there is a reason behind everything, even if you cannot see it yet, and I am sure that this is another example.

As long as you continue to be fine about it then all would appear to be well.

*hugs* That's not good. All I can do is ask around in the theatre circles *grin* Let me know when things get desperate!

Sometimes news like that takes a while to sink in, but I hope you really are just calm and feel okay about it from here on in. Good luck with finding something a zillion times more engaging.

Comiserations.

...but I've thoroughly enjoyed my period of redundancy.

I've found Real Projects are the way to survive.

One thing I haven't done yet is written any copy for a website for manda, but I will get round to it.

As I have been saying for years.

Bad news. Still, market is buoyant in many sectors - the agencies have all started coming back on the phone to [livejournal.com profile] bellagrim in the last couple of months - all for jobs in the South of course. I hope this bodes well for you. Good luck - it might be the change you need!
