Another in my series of occasional reviews.

Primeval

I was pleasantly surprised by this, and rather saddened at how much better it was than 'Torchwood'. The cast seem nice enough, though I do hope they'll tone the conspiracy-nut-cum-genius down a bit ... though I predict that his little database is going to get him a lot further along the road to a degree than his submitted dissertation. Even the "pet" dinosaur didn't grate on my nerves for some reason, although this is possibly because I fully expected the show to suck horribly and thus my expectations were so low that t actually came across as very watchable. One thing that cannot be disputed are the quality of the effects, the main "protagonist" in the first episode was of amazing quality, only a sequence with dripping saliva jarred me out of my suspension of disbelief ... funny how it's the little things that one notices. The chase sequence in the school was really outstanding and I honestly couldn't see the joins ... a damn sight more than I can say for 'Torchwood' or, indeed, 'Doctor Who' (though I love the latter dearly). I also like the mysterious wife-plot, intriguing! Needless to say I shall be tuning in next week.

Top Gear

One of the best episodes of the show I've seen, and had almost nothing to do with cars ... no reviews, no helpful information at all ... aside from the couple of pieces of advice at the end which, to be honest, I was already aware of. There were just too many highlights in the show to select any individual ones ... just go and watch it ... it's amazing.

And finally ...

This fascinating little Flash app (there's music) could easily take up an afternoon or evening: Pictaps.

Yup, those were pretty much my thoughts on Primeval too. Arthur loved it, proclaiming that the professor was the coolest character, not as I would have expected him to say the hunter/tracker guy.

Was pretty surprising that ITV haven't really pushed the show very much at all, though I still think that the 'terrestrial channels' have trouble with working out how to market sci-fi, even now.

Yup Primeval did look pretty big and clever from where I was sitting :-)

I was a bit pleasently suprised by Primeval as well-though I think I will wait a while before reaching a final verdict-so many shows go a bit iffy later on.
Right now the best thing on TV is Blade (if you get Bravo and rather like vampires). Best thing just finished was the totally incredible and utterly brilliant 'Lost Room'. Which is probably the single most interesting and original US Tv show since Twin Peaks.

Truly one of the most entertained hours i've spent in a good while.. even down to the credits. Shocked in places, laughing my preverbial off in others.
