A busy old few days indeed, Yule came and went (I must confess that I missed the actual day itself, damn these solar calendars) largely unremarked. Christmas, on the other hand, was somewhat frenetic. The morning was spent with mum and saw the preparation of dinner run smoothly (no tantrums at all) and astoundingly on time. Normally we sit down to eat at four o'clock ... not so this year, dinner was on the table at twenty to two! A very relaxed afternoon followed, until a light tea was eaten followed by a blissful journey down to the Fox for the evening. Why blissful? I imagine you asking, well I'll tell you. There was barely any other traffic on the road. I was so win. After stopping off briefly at the shoreline to thank the gods of earth and sea for a rather splendid year; the evening was spent, as usual, snuggled up in front of the telly, all very domestic but very very pleasant.

Then Boxing day dawned and a mad dash to London (via Crawley to buy some milk and a paper for mum) ensued, if one can call crawling around the M25 at speeds between zero and forty miles an hour for three hours a dash. However, upon my arrival I was reated to a most delicious luncheon courtesy of s0bs0b and with the delightful company of J, charlie_mouseCharlie_Mouse and a couple of J's friends (who were, incidentally, very easy to get on with) not to mention a couple of bottles of Chateau Neuf du Pape (probably misspelled as I don't drink it that often) and lashings of TastyFood™.

The following day saw a similarly tortuous journey back dahn sarf to drop the car off in Crawley for mum to use to do shopping while I snoozed, showered and packed for the weekend. Then a swift drive to Hove (actually) and the Fox.

Sunday saw me eating dim sum at the China Garden in Brighton with some friends from EverQuest who had popped down from Nottingham to do the family thing. Curiously they also do LRP and it turns out that we've been at several events at the same time but never actually met. The food was plentiful, tasty and very reasonably priced (I am always comforted when I see a Chinese restaurant packed with Chinese people eating) and everything was terribly pleasant. Back then to Chez Renard for some piddling about with one of the sackul of presents the Fox presented me with (I shit you not dear reader, the Fox appears to have a shotgun approach to gift buying ... get everything and you're bound to luck onto something that will be adored) to wit Hip Hop Ejay 2, which isn't quite as flexible as I had hoped it would be but is still a lot of fun to piddle around with. I also managed to chat with pax_draconisPax_Draconis, thus ensuring that we had made direct contact at least once this year! I even managed to prise a vague committment from him to visit London at some point next year ... we shall see.

Today I have been out having a FOUL lunch, which I very much regret paying for, and shopping for decorations for next Yule (which turned out to be mightily succesful). I also got my new mobile through the post, which is very silver and looks terribly posh.

And now, Gentle Reader, I must retire as I have another few days of frantic activity what with B-Movie (about which I have had only very minor fashion inspiration so will probably wear the usual) and zooming back (at some point) to grab a couple of hours' sleep before heading back off to Hove and the Fox.

Phew! I'm exhausted already.
