Hot and Bothered
Jun. 12th, 2006 05:38 pmThe Neverwhere LRP game scheduled for this weekend coming has been cancelled, and the campaign is on hold until such time as the writers gain inspiration. I'm torn between being very pissed off about this, and being quite sympathetic to the folks running the game. So for anyone who was intending to come and join the High Gate ... don't bother. Full story here.
Herding Cats
This video is an absolute joy.
Dreadful, dreadful heat aside ... Shenanigans was one of the best Maelstrom events to date for me. For the most part I spent the event dealing with the Church in one form or another; from offering pastoral advice to devotees, conducting services and ordaining priests, to the various levels of activity in the Eidolon war. It also felt that the Church was much more of a single entity than it has at previous events, hopefully this trend will continue. While inter-faith co-operation was tentative at the event, I foresee some friction in the future ... using deathbed extortion is not what I consider decent behaviour.
Due to the lovely central location I was able to get to see more people than I normally manage, though by no means everyone ... but it was lovely to see those I managed to. And the GOD queue ... following the debacle of the previous event this was an astonishing turnaround. Granted that there were probably fewer people at this event but the difference in waiting times could not possibly be ascribed to that. Kudos to the staff ... very very impressive.
Gods it was hot though ... admittedly the costume didn't help but it was bloody hot anyway.

Date: 2006-06-12 05:34 pm (UTC)I'm absolutely sure that DT was apologetic, and I'm equally certain that he feels geuinely bad about all this, and of course I'm sympathetic to that. Sadly that doesn't change the basic facts of the matter.

Date: 2006-06-13 08:42 am (UTC)I honestly don't think a game can run by committee - there needs to be 1 ST deciding the base plots and contacting the players, then as many ASTs as necessary.
