That was the week(end) that was

Friday
The Fox was off at an awards dinner in Eastbourne and was spending the night in the hotel there, so no trip to HA for me. Probably just as well since my health last week was decidedly iffy and I'd managed to get very little done that needed to get done. I just about managed to do the shopping1 but was good for very little when I returned.
Saturday
Awoke feeling quite a bit brighter and, as a result, managed to take care of the bits of housework that I'd failed to get done on Thursday and Friday. Had an adventure washing the car; my aerial decided that it didn't want to come off (meaning that it was dragged in front of the windscreen during the drying phase ... yeek!) and then the damn machine stubbornly refused to co-operate with me ... twice! And still my car is covered with gryphon-turds from my sojourn at Sexbat Towers the previous weekend!
So on to HA and the returned Fox ... hurrah! After what felt like five minutes (but was probably a little longer), the Fox had to go out and shop2 and I settled down to my first excursion into EverQuest for weeks, at least I did after I'd renewed my subscription (which had managed to lapse). Wasn't on for very long and mostly chatted to folks before heading off for a snooze. Later that evening had a fun raid, albeit one of those ones where I seemed to die every five minutes ... didn't stop it being a good raid though and we've learnt some stuff about one of the more tactical targets, though I shan't bore you with the details. Some fine pizza and a rather delicious beer infused with ginger accompanied the raid and a fun time was, indeed, had. After the raid, grabbed some sofa time with the Fox before he started falling asleep and headed off to bed.
Sunday
Decided to head off to the new(ish) Wagamama in Brighton, where I had tasty Kare Lomen and the Fox had a bowl of Wagamama Ramen with an order of Yasai Gyoza between us. I also treated myself to a small flask of saké which was very delicious and not something I get to drink very often. Wagamama really is one of my favourite restaurants ever, and the Fox seemed to quite like it too which bodes well for a return visit! As a present for buying me lunch3 the Fox bought me a box of yummy toffee waffles (though sadly he couldn't find any Tregroes, still these ones will be very tasty at Maelstrom if I can restrain myself till then.
Sunday evening saw me fall gently into a bottle of rather citrussy wine whilst watching Second Hand Lions which, though it wouldn't have been my choice, ended up being a fantastic film; I am so glad I watched it. I would heartily recommend it to anyone, it pushed an awful lot of the right buttons for me and I suspect that you too, Gentle Reader, might well enjoy it. In many ways I think it's the film that Big Fish should have been4, whilst at the same time being quite different.
Monday
Headed out with the Fox to tour what seemed like every furniture shop in Brighton looking (unsuccessfully) for a lamp table for mum. I really wasn't feeling terribly well (I'll spare you the details) and so it turned fairly rapidly into the day from Hell. Finally got back to Chez Renard and wasn't able to sleep so played EQ a bit (which at least took my mind off of being ill albeit temporarily) before dinner and Big Brother to which the Fox is, sadly, addicted. Thence the long, uncomfortable drive back to the Field of Crows and an early night.
1 For "provender" ... oh yes.
2 For "comestibles" perchance?
3 He's sweet like that.
4 Though I enjoyed that too.
