Suspicious Email
Dec. 22nd, 2005 09:00 pmI received the following email today, I've substituted "[a number]" or "[a word]" for potentially damaging info:
I've forwarded it to abuse@paycom.net but I'm a little worried that someone may have hacked my Visa account ... though I try to be careful where I use it online.
Has anyone out there received a similar email?

Date: 2005-12-22 09:11 pm (UTC)Is this a direct use of your VISA then rather than use of some kind of paycom account? If so you should get hold of your card provider yesterday - an abuse line should be open 24 hours.

Seriously though, it looks like pretty typical spam to me.

Date: 2005-12-22 09:34 pm (UTC)Thankfully, being reasonably astute in these matters I haven't opened the damn thing.
I am now feeling quite belligerant ... although Visa were really helpful.
