Oct. 6th, 2003 07:18 pmTo post without checking my references first. The procedure I'm getting is a colonoscopy, not an endoscopy at all. That said, laxatives aside, I'd rather have a colonoscopy than an endoscopy any day ... I could probably endure the former without sedation but there is a risk of very serious and very real physical violence if anyone attempts the latter without giving me a serious armful of drugs. It occured to me yesterday, that this might have been a much more pleasant undertaking if I'd been offered a colonic irrigation instead of these foul, foul potions that I'm having to take (think of the skinheads at the animal testing labs in 51st State).
I suppose if all this were for something that was tangibly wrong with me it wouldn't seem quite so bad ... but there's nothing wrong down there, this is just a bloody check-up. Bastards!
Happily the insurance company have said they won't fund another test so at least this is the last time.
