Coming up for air
Jun. 7th, 2007 11:20 amQuick update since I've been so rubbish recently.
Had an EQ guild meeting the weekend before last which was an absolute blast, it was good to meet so many people who I'd only ever known online. Sadly my host's (
Simes2112) grand-daughter sneezed on me (sufficient to require the application of paper towels) and it later transpired that she had scarlet fever. Thankfully adults very rarely get scarlet fever, what we do get is an absolute killer virus (think of a cold that makes you feel as though you have flu but without the temperature and joint pain) ... Tuesday passed in a blur of unconsciousness interspersed with brief periods of wakefulness, though I don't think I was entirely lucid when I was conscious. Thankfully it's on its last legs now and I'm feeling much better.
As part of the EQ meeting we also went to see Pirates of the Carribean 3, which I rather liked. Doubtless it has been disected elsewhere so I shan't go into any great detail other than to say that I enjoyed it but felt that an awful lot seemed to have been left out, though how to include everything without making the film six hours long eludes me.
Trying to play on three WoW servers is proving *ahem* difficult. I have my original Tauren Shaman on the Sha'Tar (who has since been joined by
Simes2112), then I have an Undead Rogue on Burning Blade (with
s0b and
jul1et) plus a Blood Elf Paladin I started when
Simes2112 came over to the server, and now I have a Dwarf paladin on Moonglade where Fred (sans LJ) is ... it's all getting too much! Sorry to those folks on Steamwheedle but playing another character would drive me insane(er)! One thing I think the game could use is a cross-server chat channel so I can keep a track of who's online where.
I am very much enjoying the current season of Dr Who, and last week's episode set me on the verge of tears ... a very fine piece of work ... and I'll have words with anyone that says otherwise!
So to the weekend and Maelstrom where I shall be playing my new character properly for the first time ... I must say I'm very much looking forward to it, though not looking forward to the solo drive one little bit ... must get someone local hooked ...
