In the spirit of the poetry meme, I offer up my own favourite. It's a tough choice because the late Ted Hughes has long been my favourite poet (he once gave a talk at our school - though I'd been an avid reader of his poetry for years before that) but I think that Hawk Roosting gets pride of place because, of all his poems, it is the one that I think stands out when read aloud. Anyway, here it is:

Gondwana

Another plea for help! I am trying to find a relief map of Gondwana or Pangea that I can fiddle with slightly (eg. add labels to) for a forthcoming tabletop RPG I'm doing. Google image search hasn't been a great deal of help (or I've been typing in the wrong things) as it's either turned up small images, rubbish images or images covered in notes and/or an outline of how the modern continents fit in. All I want is a largish map showing where the bumps and dips were thought to be with no extraneous notes or diagramatic aids.

Failing that, I'll take a relief map of pretty much anywhere as long as it's a large island in the middle of an empty sea and has no writing on it!

[edit]
Of course the instant I go looking for one of the relief maps I'd seen that were covered in detritus, I come across this little beauty. Normal service resumed.
