Bloody typical
Nov. 22nd, 2003 10:54 amSo the weekend dawns and suddenly my chest has decided to rebel against the tyrannical forces of wellness. I've been up all bloody night coughing and I'm getting moderately familiar with the taste of blood, everything is aching and I can't get my temperature settled. The Fox, of course, has been marvellously sympathetic (although hugs can be a little painful when every nerve-ending is on a hair-trigger) despite having been kept up all night and having to go to work this morning. Of course this has also put the mockers on my planned sojourn in Clash Town with
s0b and J, which has contributed to making me mightily grumpy. At least I would feel grumpy if I could summon up the energy for it.
On a lighter note, the Fox and I watched 'Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle' last night and were greatly entertained. The film is funnier and sillier than the first but in a much more knowing way, there are also some luscious clues that foreshadow events later on in the film. One in particular had me so impressed by the artistry of the setup that I completely forgave them the utter implausibility of the event itself. This is not a film to take seriously but it is a very finely crafted piece of hokum that I wouldn't have felt at all swindled by had I paid tio see it at the cinema.
Of course I am now wishing that I'd brought down 'Fellowship of the Ring' and 'Return of the King' as we now have plenty of time in which to watch them. Ah well, such is life.
Anyroad, time to crawl back into bed before I cover this monitor with my right lung.
