The Page Cannot be Displayed

Is anyone else finding that LJ has been utterly flaky in the past few weeks? I've lost count of the number of replies I've lost because of a 401 error (I think that's the right number) and it's really starting to cheese me off.

In other news:

If there is someone on your friends list you would love to have a fukathon with, post this same exact sentence in your journal.

Now the question you need to ask is, did I include that because it's true? Or because I want to wind up the Fox? Or possibly both?

I've had no real problems with LJ at all, despite playing the "I'm bored with Explorer" game about 3 weeks ago and trying out several other browsers in quick succession.

A quick rummage and the following comes to light.

401 is an authentication error, but can be caused by a corrupt cookie on the user's machine.

Do you use an LJ cookie so you don't have to sign in each time?

Might be worth deleting it and letting LJ create a new cookie and see if that fixes it.

As for the meme ... I'm one of those people (like pax_draconis) who doesn't quite see the point. But then I didn't see the point of the "List every book you can think of and show you know how to use the HTML bold" meme either :-)

No luck with cookie deletion I'm afraid. Curiously I have exactly the same problem at the Fox's too ... different ISP, different PC. Maybe it's just me?
