I'm just not sure when I passed the invisible threshold that meant I started getting excited by furniture. I know I've listened to Radio 4 since about the age of 6 months, but I'm pretty sure I used to thing tables were dull...
Ahhh ... see I admitted it a while ago, after posting on LJ about IT training desks where you could make the screen rise up out of the table by pressing a button.
That is very cool, and I'd certainly have one (for gaming - now how can I embed flip-up screens in the rising sections?), however:
"It is a circular table which, when rotated at its outer perimeter, doubles its seating capacity, yet astonishingly remains truly circular."
Doubtless someone will call me on this, but I'm sure the outer diameter of the main segments implies that the expanded surface cannot be truly circular. Close, but not "truly".
Difficult to tell, but the basic theory should be that the orignal segments should have a tighter curve and hence "bulge" more. However they could be being sneaky and using the right degree of curvature for the larger circle, hiding it with that rim/collar doohicky. Or maybe not.
A good look at that clip suggests you are right about the doohickey - the main six segments to appear to have the large-diameter curve and are "corrected" by the rim. Sneaky.
they are based about 20 yards from where I used to live in Surrey.
istr that they assume you live in surrey and can afford to own a house there when you try to buy from them, I went in looking for a chair and ended up going to IKEA :)

Careful. Those of a delicate disposition regarding furniture may want to wait until they get home, for fear of screaming with glee.

Now a table that turns into a yacht/volcano base/evil robot from the planet septon IV would be worth looking at.
