Is your make-up fu strong?

Only I have this pair of horns. Now these horns are horns of great loveliness being, as they are, crafted from translucent resin lovingly inked to look almost like the real thing. Unfortunately, these horns of splendour are rather heavy (well, heavy for two 2" blocks of resin) and I've yet to find any adhesive that will hold them on securely. Now it may be that I'm not using either spirit gum or mastix properly, and there may well be an arcane trick that will solve all my woes. I need them to stick to my head securely, to survive the occasional gentle knock, stay on through a veritable tide of perspiration, and remain safely attached for an entire day's roleplaying.

Can you help?

apply to head and horns, leave to go sticky, attach. Remove after entire weekend sleeping in prosthetics with the appropriate removal liquid.

I'm going to suggest superglue.
Seriously... it is designed to do exatly the job that you are describing. It is designed to attach flesh to things (mainly back to flesh)

However, be warned... it is military/medical strength adhesive - if you get any in your eyes you are screwed.

Put some on each horn, then remove any excess. Dab the horns to your head where they will sit, remove them and allow the glue on both to dry to a tackyness, then push the horns onto your head.

Pros-aid apparently doesn't become an adhesive until it has dried. It's what boogeyman Neil uses at Maelstrom and for his day job. If you don't need a solution until after the next M then why not bring them with you, pop up to the the crewroom and we can experiment. It may be that you need to attach the horns to a thin latex forehead and then the larger area latex to you?

Ah... you use a spoon that has been sitting in boiling water, and gently tease them off. John Newton used to do something similar (or so I heard) to pinch the top of his ears into elf ears.

Surgical adhesive, it's made to stick medical prosethetics like ileostomy bags and stuff on, also has a lovely remover which moisturises the skin.

You can get "tescos own" superglue (or something like that) which will stick but not as much as "real" superglue

Ahah, searching reveals the following from the man (Neil):
Spirit gum is a ok option its a poors mans PROSTICK (English) or PROSAIDE (American) if you are going to use spirit gum then make sure you dont use water based (Childrens) as it will come off with water or sweat and make sure you buy a remover (MME is the best by Kryolan)

Prostick is the best prosthetic glue avaliable, you put one part on the prosthetic and one part on skin, WAIT FOR IT TO GO CLEAR THEN PUSH IT TOGETHER LIGHTLY. It is removed with a pink solvent called Proclear avaliable from the same english maker directly (Look up Aaron Sherman) or buy it from Charles Fox in Covent Garden.

Dauphines seems to have a good selection of adhesives, (http://www.dauphines.co.uk/index/alteration/adhesives/) including Prosaide and Pro stick. I've never used them, but the prices seem reasonable. Just don't forget to by some adhesive remover. (http://www.dauphines.co.uk/index/alteration/adhesive-thinner-and-remover/)

Nail glue (the stuff that holds fake nails on) does quite an excellent job also. Used it on a few folks to hold big top knot hair prosthetics on for a weekend and works a treat.

But think as I recall from smell it is probably again a weak cynoacrilate or superglue type mix.
