And so it begins ...

My first journal entry and I have so very little to say. I am lousy at diaries, let me get that straight to start with, I start off with great intentions but it all tails off after a couple of days. However since this is a task designed to enhance the revamp of my website (don't go there yet, it's horribly out of date) I have hopes that it might last a little longer.

I got home from work today, slumped in front of the TV for some sci-fi goodness (tapes of last Sunday's Andromeda, Stargate and Enterprise ... of which the latter was by far the most entertaining) although I can't for the life of me think why I'm still watching Andromeda. I'm told it improves, hopefully it will do so before I retire. After this TV fix, I then sat down to deal with my email and to start up this LiveJournal (blame Sexbat, he invited me).

And now, gentle reader (I promise not to use that too often) I am going to bugger off to play some EverQuest. If you're very lucky, tomorrow I may wax lyrical about the pros and cons of Lost Dungeons of Norrath.

I never managed to keep a diary before.

I have several ones I started, with the very best of intentions, on any number of January 2nds ...

LJ is a little different; first of all you can talk about whatever takes your fancy; secondly, and this is the weird bit, there *is* an audience.

Welcome aboard, and here's hoping you find it every bit as interesting as Everquest (try searching for that under interests ...)

Eeeek! Now there's a scary list ... maybe later, when I have a couple of stiff valium and a pint of gin inside me.

You know, only two days ago, I wondered "Does Bin have an LJ?" and then, as is my wont, promptly forgot all about it and went back to sleep, content in my own somnolence. Trulya I am, tired, saggy and a little bit loose at the seams.

Don't feel bad, I tend to use "Gentle Reader" about once an entry. I don't feel in the slightest bit embarrassed about it.

Welcome to LJ-land, sir.

I occasionally find myself thinking of using "dear reader" or "gentle reader" and then think that it looks like an affectation of any of the above!

Hello Bin :)

I too am awful at keeping paper diaries but [livejournal.com profile] sexbat is right, LJ's different. There's something pleasing about being able to write about your day TO people...and it's also easier to type your problems into the ether...hence the angsty form of many online diaries.
Hope you do write in here :)
