A COMEDIE OF ERRORS or WTF?
Jun. 14th, 2006 02:37 pmOh best beloved, such a littany of woes and confusion shall I lay before thee that thou would'st think it a cloth of a size in which to enwrap creation itself.
Perhaps I exaggerate slightly.
Ah well ... c'est la vie.
In other news, this track by Jamie T is pure genius.
Perhaps I exaggerate slightly.
- Next weekend was to be Neverwhere preceded by visiting chums in London and followed by seeing the Fox before he went away on holiday for a week.
- Neverwhere gets cancelled so I figure I can have a nearly full weekend with the Fox before he heads off and go visit Sexbat Towers the following weekend.
- It turns out that the Fox is, in fact, leaving at dawn o'clock on Saturday so there is no possibility of meeting him after drinks on Thursday. So suddenly I have nowhere to go this weekend and matricide is looking high on the list of Saturday's activities.
- I decide on a whistle-stop tour of various locations in the South East, catching up with people (mostly sans LJ) that I haven't seen in a while.
- Due to the infernal heat I decide to nip out to buy some beers to throw in the freezer and drink when cold enough to chill my blood. Being 10.55pm I just miss Sainsbury's so I continue to Tescos. I buy said beer and the car, filled with umbrage at being seen in so common a place as Tesco's car park decides to activate its engine immobilizer.
- The recovery service finally reaches me at 2am. By 3am the decision is made that the car cannot be coerced into starting by a mere man with spanners and so we are taken back home.
- The car is taken into the garage where they tell us it will be next Tuesday before they can look at it.
- I have a hire car for 48 hours but no more, the garage cannot lend me a courtesy car until Tuesday (by which time the damn car should be fixed anyway).
- My plans for the weekend have been very thoroughly torpedoed ... unless the garage fix the car (and rip the bloody immobilizer out) early ... which is possible.
- Chances are that, to add insult to injury, I'll need to use a taxi to do the shopping this week ... which is something I hate.
Ah well ... c'est la vie.
