Another One
Dec. 18th, 2003 03:20 pmYes, Gentle reader, I too have seen the three and a half hour trailer for the Return of the King Extended DVD and it was good ... not perfect but then what do you expect from a trailer? They're bound to leave out the bits that actually hang the story together, otherwise why bother releasing it in the first place? In connection with this, I was called by s'Kalion about a week ago asking if I'd like him to get me a ticket to go see the film with him and r'Ant. I rather swiftly asked him to get me two tickets and resolved then and there not to breathe a word of it to the Fox (he being particularly timid when it comes to meeting anyone who might possibly be construed a friend of mine) and simply told him that 'we' were going to see it and the tickets were booked. Naturally he was mortified when he realised he'd been duped and was appropriately awkward but hopefully he'll get used to the notion of meeting people one day.
Perhaps, if I'm very lucky, I'll be able to drag him out on Boxing Day ... but to be perfectly honest, I doubt it.
Somewhat curiously the Fox also got very paranoid about the (actually relatively small) difference in our ages, which I found particularly strange since I think that pretty much all of my friends/acquaintances/readers/co-workers/complete strangers know exactly where my predilictions lie and have long ago accepted it or got the f*ck out of Dodge.
On the bright side, the Fox did fix the spare printer he'd given me so it does now actually print now (RIP my old Canon) and he was, as usual, very pleasant to have around.
Time for a shower now and then out to Haywards Heath for the weekly Jorune game.
