Giants and Hobbits and Benylin ... oh my!
Nov. 30th, 2003 02:35 amWell here we are, Saturday night and, having got rid of his imposed houseguest (long story which I shan't go into here) I am finally back at the Fox's house. Early evening was mostly taken up with a raid on Kael Drakal (the giant city) with my guild on EQ. The raid went astoundingly well, despite the fact that my character died, and we made some new strides in dealing with the giants. Every time we go there it seems that we achieve more and more, it really is very heartening. Unfortunately the raid was set an hour later than had been published (some cross-posting issues) and so I had to leave early otherwise my evening with the Fox would have been somewhat spoilt.
And so to a very fine dinner and the first part of our Lord of the Rings weekend. I've brought down the extended versions of Fellowship of the Ring and the Two Towers to watch over the weekend and tonight was Fellowship night. The film really is a pleasure to watch and never fails to bring a lump to my throat at some points. So the Fox and I had a heavenly evening of drinking wine and watching Peter Jackson's masterpiece.
Tomorrow I shall be taking the Fox to pick up his new car, play a little more EQ and watch the next installment. The Fox hasn't seen the Two Towers at all and I haven't seen the extended version so I'm really looking forward to it. But for now, Gentle Reader, I shall take a spoonful of Benylin and take myself to bed where, if I'm lucky, I shall sleep undisturbed by coughing until the morning.
Bon nuit.
