Ahh - just actually read the footnote about Outlook.
What you could do is install the Palm Desktop software, adjust the Sync channels so that they go to the Palm Desktop, Sync the Palm (you can do a one-way sync, so you're just copying stuff from the Palm to the desktop and not the other way) and then adjust them back to Outlook so you can carry on working as normal. When the Palm comes back from repair, you can just load everything back by reversing the procedure.
TBH, its the sort of thing I could quite happily talk you through on the phone if you weren't feeling too confident about it.
