Very true, except that reading the entry on Taranis (don't look s0b) it becomes clear that both the Architect and Taranis were ancient ancestors that were 'taken-over' by the Enemy ... so much as I'd love to think that Mister Squiddy is still out there trying to break the world, the evidence points to the contrary.
