Yesterday I passed within two feet of Tom Baker1 ... and all I did was smile insipidly at him. Honestly, I'm hopeless, I really am ... granted he wasn't my favourite Doctor Who (or even my second or third come to think of it) but I liked him in Randall and Hopkirk and love his voiceovers ... and his Elf King left me in stitches. The same thing happened with Judi Dench a couple of years ago ... I shy away from celebrities, especially (it seems) those I admire. If Brian Blessed ever did do an LRP event I'd probably be incapable of playing anything that possessed a spine.
Battlestar Galactica is still the best thing on TV at the moment, even if this week's episode pushed my suspension of disbelief somewhere waaaaay past breaking point (and I have a very elastic SoD). That said, it always looks fantastic, I love that they've made the cylons organic (almost makes up for the appalling doppleganger plot device) ... well, the humanoids and the raiders are so I'd guess the centurions have some biological components too ... makes me wonder about base stars ... mmmm. Also, Colonel Tigh is still delicious (although research has discovered that Michael Hogan is married with kids in RealLife™*sigh*)
As
s0b mentioned in his LJ, watching Ewan McGregor doing an Obi-Wan impersonation in the middle of Siberia was particularly amusing ... more so because I think the quote was from the film that his uncle was in, rather than the two he's been in himself.
1Who is nowhere near as portly as he appears to be on TV.
